Galen (18 mai 130 – 20 avr. 210)
Description:
Galen was a physician who dissected animals rather than humans. Because of this, he had a very skewed idea of human anatomy. He thought that there were two blood systems, originating from the liver. He also believed in the four bodily humors--blood, phlegm, black bile, and yellow bile. He stated that illness came from the four humors being out of balance. Galen advocated the contraries cure.
