Description:
Was The Vice President of JFK and was sworn in after the assassination. He tried to continue what Kennedy was doing by passing the Civil Rights Bill of 1964. Johnson then ran again as a democrat in the election of 1964 against the republican Berry Goldwater. He won by a land slide and immediately passed the voting rights act of 1965. Johnson also started the Vietnam conflict by ordering the first bombing of Vietnam, code named Operation Rolling Thunder.
