Vietnam War (1 nov 1955 – 30 avr. 1975)

Description:

The Vietnam war was a serious politically based Indochina war where the Vietnamese were striving for Independence. This was unfortunately interrupted by the US trying to stop the spread of communism and China supporting North communist Vietnam. Although the US sent dozens of soldiers and drafted a lot of their citizens they finally withdrew their troops in 1973 leaving Vietnam taken over by communists. The US was at a disadvantage because they were fighting in an unknown territory against an experienced enemy being the Viet Cong and Viet Minh.
