Blaise Pascal (19 juin 1623 – 19 août 1662)
Description:
Blaise pascal was a french mathematician and physicist.
REASONS WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT:
1) He invented the first mechanical calculator, then later the Pascal calculator, which could add, subtract, multiply, and divide two numbers. In a way, this is the first instance of a mechanical computing device.
2) He also did work on polynomials, which would be helpful to any future inventors that needed to work with polynomial calculations.
3) Most importantly, his invention of the calculator showed people that inventions could be used to make difficult and time-consuming jobs easier.
