Description:
-Developed a classification system of mental disorders-He was mentored by Wilhem Wundt and worked in his laboratory in Leipzig
-After, he moved to Munich in 1903 where he founded the Department of Psychiatry of the University
-In his lab he mentored Alois Alzheimer who studied the underlying causes of Alzheimer dementia
- He differentiated between ‘dementia praecox’ and ‘manic depression’ as the two forms of psychosis which is still a leading theory today
