Inez Beverly Prosser (30 déc. 1897 – 1 sept. 1934)

Description:

Prosser focused on educational psychology and the effects of racism. She believed that the social aspects of integration may have damaging effects on African american children's self esteem, while segregated schools provide a more supportive, nurturing environment. She acknowledge that this argument was not an absolute truth and different personality thrive in integrated schools. Her arguments would be cited during debates over school segregation and her voice is still heard in the betterment of education through teaching today.
