The Swedish Deluge (25 juill. 1655 – 3 mai 1660)
Description:
Only July 25th 1655, Charles X Gustav commanded Swedish troops to invade Poland in an attempt to completely take over the Baltic Sea. Sweden was largely successful, conquering major parts of Poland-Lithuania. In 1660, the Treaty of Oliva was signed due to intervention by the French. The Treaty sent both Sweden and Poland-Lithuania to where they had started the War, but not before a huge part of Poland-Lithuania was ravaged. Following the Deluge, Sweden was the largest power in Northern Europe.
