Qubilai was Jochi's second son. Hulegu's older brother. Conquered South China. Hardest mongol conquest. Jungle was disease and mosquito infected difficult trerrain made mobility harder. The Chinese had a formidable navy, something Qubilai had to build. He made use of international help of mongol influence; Chinese, Uyghurs, and Persians advised his army and Chinese Jurchins and Koreans built his navy. They had superior artillery in slow and persisten sieges. The longest siege lasted 5 years
Qubilai payed off neighboring nations before attacking so that htey wouldn't interfere.
