Very difficult siege. Finally successful in 1098, but were then themselves besieged by arriving Seljuk reinforcements.Scouting Crusaders sent abway the Byzantine army
A monk then "found" the Holy Lance: likely a fake artifact that had the real impact of Crusaders defeating the Seljuks on June 28 1098
