Hungarian Revolution (23 oct. 1956 – 10 nov 1958)
Description:
The Hungarian Revolution was a period of time in which nationwide uprising took place against the Soviet-imposed Hungarian People's Republic. While the revolt started as a student protest, it quickly escalated when students were fired upon, resulting in the death of one student. As a result, the government collapsed and a large Soviet force was mobilized in order to crush the revolution. These actions resulted in the loss of faith in the communist party within capitalist states, and increased tensions.
