Henry the Navigator funds Portuguese explorations (1 janv. 1415 – 1 janv. 1460)
Description:
Henry the Navigator, although not a navigator nor explorer himself, was the prince of Portugal who commissioned many explorers to find and explore Africa. He played a major role in the Age of Exploration as he had the money to fund expensive voyages, putting Portugal on the radar and on the way to becoming a major power. With each trip Henry the Navigator funded, more information about the world was gathered, which helped build Portugal's prized maps.
