Known as Tsar Liberator; frees serfs.
Builds railroads for Russia's military.
Continuing with more reforms like Catherine and Peter, he impacted Russia by making educational innovations including the expansion and reform of universities, elementary schools and secondary schools. Reformed of the Russian Orthodox Church. Made economic modernization impacting banking, railways, mining, manufacturing.
Design treaty of Paris, ending the Crimean war; reverses what Catherine started.
Assinated by terrorist group in St. Petersburg with a bomb.
