Marco Polo published a book on his travels in China, named The Description of the World, described the glory of Kublai Khan’s Mongolian empire. Before his book, Venetians were largely uninformed on the vast empire that existed miles from their home, but after, they began to feel the pressure to innovate and explore. Similar experiences occurred in China. While he wasn’t the first to explore China from Europe, he was the first to formally document his travels and massively expanded the Silk Road’s trading legitimacy and value.Ajouté au bande de temps:
