Stamp Act British Government put in place an act to tax stamps to get money for the dept the French and Indian war caused and to continue to pay for the continued defense.
The Sugar Act An act put into place by the Great Britain Parliament to cut back on smuggling in the colonies.
Tea Act Act to help the East India Company, a British Tea company that had fallen into dept. The Tea Act enforced the Three Penny Tax put into place during Townshend Acts. This act angered colonists.
Boston Tea Party A group of Bostonians dressed as Native Americans boarded a British merchant ship and two companion vessels. The Americans were ordered by their commander to destroy all the ships cargo, Tea from the British East India Company. The Bostonians gladly dumped the tea into the Boston Harbor.
Boston Massacre A mob of Bostonians confronted 9 British soldiers standing outside the Boston Custom House. The angry civilians threw snowballs and hit the soldiers with sticks. As the tensions grew a Soldier fired leading to other soldiers firing, killing 5 and injuring 6.
Intolerable Acts British Prime Minister passed 4 laws to punish the Bostonians after the Boston Tea Party. -The Boston Port Act -The Administration of Justice Act -Massachusetts Government Act -Quartering Act
First Continental Congress Denounced taxation without representation and maintenance of the British army without their consent in the colonies. They issued a declaration of the rights of every citizen including, life, liberty, property, assembly, and trial by jury.
Battle of Bunker Hill First Battle of American Revolution. British won but had casualties.This battle spread awareness of American Revolution.
Second Continental Congress Delegates voted to form a Continental Army, they had Washington as the chief.
Revolutionary War full swing Majority of colonists were in favor of independence.
Vote for independence The Continental Congress voted for the Declaration of Independence. Important men were assigned to write the Declaration of Independence.
Battle of Saratoga An American vistory that was a proven turning point in revolution. Prompted France to enter the war of the American side. The war turned into a world war.

Townshend Acts British Parliament passed 4 laws: -Suspending Act -Townshend Duties Act -permitted tea to be imported to the colonies free of all taxes -parliament made a Board of Customs Commissioners All this made colonists angry and caused protests.
