Judges: Led the Israelites as tribal leaders through times of crisis
King Saul: Was granted a King by God who was reluctant to grant the people one but did it due to the growing threats from the Philistines
King Solomon: Became king after his father died. Solomon built a temple that would serve as the centre of worship for the Jewish faith for the next millennium, after the death of solomon, the kingdom broke up.
King David: David became King after Saul. His kingship marked the high point of Jewish imperial history and scored a number of military victories. Established Jerusalem as his capital city.
Babylonian Exile: Babylonians invaders captured Judah and destroyed Solomon's temple in Jerusalem.
Diaspora: Majority of the Jews lived in the Diaspora, and so they created a new set of standards for their faith tradition. In 332 BCE, Alexander the Great conquered much of the known world, thus those living in the Diaspora fell under the influence of Greek culture.
Maccabean Revolt: Group of Rebels among the Jews due to the growing of dissatisfaction of the Greek rule/culture. By the end of 164 BCE, the Maccabean's became in control of Jerusalem, and the temple was rededicated to God once again.
Rabbinic Judaism: The Romans overtook Jerusalem in 70 CE and destroyed the temple. Rabbi Yohanan Ben Zakkai convinced the Romans to allow him to relocate the Sanhedrin to the town of Yavneh, with this creating an opportunity for the Jews to preserve their way of life and redefine themselves. 200 CE the religion and their traditions grow further.
