The birth date of Josef Vissarionovich Djugashvili, mostly known as Joseph Stalin, is unknown. It is believed that he was born on December 6th, 1878, or December 18th, 1878. However, he invented a new birth date for his ownself, being December 21, 1879.
(Motivation to become a leader) Joseph Stalin was treated cruelly by other children in his village and was given a sense of inferiority. However, this motivated him to pursue a quest for greatness and respect.
(Childhood) Stalin did well in school, earning him a scholarship to Tiflis Theological Seminary.
(Childhood) Stalin encountered Messame Dassy who was a secret organisation that supported Georgia's independence from Russia. It is significant that this encounter is the reason that Stalin was exposed to the writings of Karl Marx and Vladimir Lenin.
(Childhood) Stalin officially joins the Messame Dassy organisation.
(Childhood) Joseph Stalin excelled in seminary school and although he did so, he left school. This is an interesting part in his childhood because it is debated why he was on longer in seminary school. It is said that he left, however, school records show that he was unable to pay the tuition and so he withdrew from school. It is also said that he was asked to leave the school due to his political views.
(Childhood) Stalin joined the Social Democratic Labour Party and took part in the revolutionary movement.
(Childhood) He coordinated a labour strike and in doing so, was arrested. It was near this time that Joseph Stalin, adopted the last name "Stalin" which means "Steel" in Russian.
(Rise to a leader) Joseph Stalin was appointed as the General Secretary of the Communist Party. This allowed him to have full control over all of the party members. The party members did not realise the things that Stalin had done to their appointments such as making shrewd appointments.
(Rise to a leader) Vladimir Lenin, the leader of the revolution, passed away which allowed Stalin to set out and destroy the leadership of the old party that was run by Lenin. Stalin removed the people in power, eventually granting Stalin to become the leader and ruler of Russia. Joseph Stalin ruled Russia as a with an Autocratic leadership style, meaning that he was the dictator of Russia.
(Accomplishments as a leader) From late 1920 to early 1930, Joseph Stalin because he believed that collectivism would accelerate food production which would benefit Russia. However, this caused millions of Ukranian peasants (farmers) to die due to forced labour and the lack of food.
(Accomplishments) Joseph Stalin also began rapid industrialization in Russia which was a huge success. However, millions were killed and environmental damage was caused overtime.
(Accomplishments) Joseph Stalin signed a Nonaggression Pact with Adolf Hitler (Germany) which would protect Russia if a second world war broke out. Not only would it protect Russia, but they would gain half of Poland. Therefore, allowing expansion of Russia.
(Accomplishments) Although a Nonaggression pact was signed, Adolf Hitler, out of fear, struck Russia with a blitzkrieg and broke the Nonaggression pact. Although Stalin's army was unprepared and suffered many losses, Stalin was able to successfully defend Russia from being taken over by Germany. This eventually allowed Russia to become apart of the Allied Forces in WWII, granting peace between Russia and the other Allied forces.
Joseph Stalin passes away. His time on Earth allowed Russia to become one of the world's strongest colonies. A world superpower.
