Start of the Aboriginal tent embassy

Police move in on tent embassy
December 1976 The Aboriginal land rights act was formed
In October 1973, 70 Aboriginal people staged a sit in on the steps of the Parliament House and the tent embassy was reasablished.
People protest again with tents, around 200, and clash with police. The news of violence spread, increasing support for the embassy.
2000 protestors re-erected the tents again, but then removed by protestors in a peaceful demonstration.
In 1992, the embassy was reastablished permanently inforn of the old Parliament House. They fought once more in fear of being forgotten.
On 6 February the embassy issued a list of demands to the Australian Government. The list focused on land rights issues and demanded Ownerships of different places across Australia.
Périodes
The 1971 Milirrpum v Nabalco inspired the 4 from Refern, Sydney to set up a Tent Embassy infront of the old Parliament house.
A ban was formed preventing any squatting on Parliament lawn. Police moved in in a "Nazi' like fashion and arrested 8 people and removed the tent.
In October 1973, 70 Aboriginal staged a protest by sitting on the steps of the old Parliament house. The tent embassy was also reastablished on that day.
Between 1972 and 1992, the embassy was established across Canberra including the current parliament house.
