French & Indian War - This was a turning the point between the colonist and Great Britain.
Treaty of Paris- This treaty eneded the war and France agreed to give up all land in North America.
Proclamation of 1763- forbade all settlement past a line that is drawn along the Appalachian Mountains.
Stamp act- The tax was imposed on all American colonists and required them to pay a tax on every piece of printed paper they used. Ship's papers, legal documents, licenses, newspapers, other publications, and even playing cards were taxed.
Intolerable Acts- Harsh Laws that the Parliment passed. They punished the Americans for the Boston Tea Party and other protest.
Sons & Daughters of Liberty They were an oranganization that was formed to protect rights and fight againt taxation without representation
Committees of Correspondence- rallied colonial opposition against British policy and established a political union among the Thirteen Colonies.
Thomas Paine's Common sense- advocating independence from Great Britain to people in the Thirteen Colonies.
Declaration of Independence- which announced that the thirteen American colonies, then at war with the Kingdom of Great Britain, regarded themselves as thirteen independent sovereign states, no longer under British rule.
