J.C.R Licklider contributed early ideas
of global networking. I consider this
as the start because it shows how
the internet first formulated.Another M.I.T scientist develops
a way of sending information from one computer
to another, called "packet switching"The ARPANET (Advanced Research
Projects Agency Network) is created.ARPNET delivers it's first message
from computer to computer.Computer science Vint Cerf creates
the TCP (Transmission Control Protocol)
in order for all computer on the
world's mini networks to communicate.Tim Berners-Lee created the
World Wide Web which
is a system that uses hypertext links
and enables the user to jump from
document to document.A group of students and researchers
at the University of Illinois developed
a sophisticated browser called Mosaic.All networks have become vulnerable to hacking.Lawrence G. Roberts went to DARPA
to develop his computer networking concept.Lawrence G. Roberts and DARPA
refined the overall structure
and specifics fro ARPANET.The first four computer hosts are connected together over the initial ARPANET.The Internet becomes available
to the public because of the
World Wide Web.Microsoft offers to buy Yahoo for $44.6 million.Youtube is launched.Wikipedia is created.
