OCT 9, 1903, Edouard Benedictus accidentally discovered bullet proof glass in 1903 when he dropped a glass beaker in to some plastic cellulose nitrate.
November 11, 1914, Benedictus obtains the US Patent for his invention.
November 9, 1915, bullet resistant glass used in WW1 used in gas mask eye holes and fighter plane windows
September 15, 1920, Bullet proof glass was used in banks, was put in place in band teller stations, and voice transmission systems allowed patrons to communicate with the tellers.
September 17, 1930, bullet resistant glass was used in cars, though not widely due to it's price.
OCT 23, 1953 Poly carbonates Discovered, Poly carbonates, a group of clear and easily mold-able plastics, were discovered by scientists H. Schnabel (in Germany) and D. W. Fox (in the US). As Mr. Fox worked for GE, poly-carbonates began to be used in commercial products in the late 1950's.
OCT 7, 1982, First Patent for Bulletproof Glass, Invented by Jacques Sauret and Gerard Gross, this was the first patent exclusively for bulletproof glass.
