Cause: It was caused by Napoleon trying to make a name for himself, and fighting back against the Russian Empire.Effect: It had a tremendous impact on the French nation, they had a devastating defeat at the Hands of the Russian. They had 500,000 casualties, during battle and on the way back to France.
