1 janv. 1000 - Leif Erickson Discovers North America
Description:
Credited with being the first known European to set foot in North America. He sailed from Greenland, led an expedition to the North American continent, and established a settlement called Vinland, believed to be located in modern-day Newfoundland in Canada. Leif's discovery occurred nearly 500 years before Christopher Columbus' voyages, marking an important early Norse exploration of the Americas. However, the Norse settlements in North America were short-lived, and the region was largely forgotten until European exploration resumed centuries later.
