15 avr. 1912 - Appoints Julia C. Lathrop (of Hull House and the Chicago School of Civics and Philanthropy) head of the Children’s Bureau. She was first woman appointed to a major federal post. The New York Times reported that she received "the highest salary of any woman in the Government employ."
