14 avr. 1802 - Signs “Act to establish an uniform rule of Naturalization and to repeal the acts heretofore passed on that subject” (1 Stat 153). Period of residency for citizenship reduced to five years instead of fourteen. Applies to “any free white person” who takes oath of allegiance to the Constitution; renounces any titles; and has been “a man of good moral character.”
