1 juin 1532 - Francisco Pizarro Conquers Incan Empire

Description:

Francisco Pizarro and the Conquistadores conquered the Incan Empire. His army arrived in Peru after a dispute between two brothers within the ruling house and conquered Cuzco by 1533. The Conqusitadores looted gold and silver plaques from temples and buildings.
Advantages:
1. Superior weaponry gave them the military advantage over the Incas.
2. Many subjects of the Incan empire detested rule by the Incas as overlords and tax collectors and so put up little resistance to the Spanish, even aiding them.
3. Smallpox had spread to Peru in the 15290s where it took a heavy toll on Andean populations.
