Description:

Duke Heinrich of Saxe-Römhild documented a purchase of a set of four chalumeaux from Nurmberg, likely from Johann Christoph Denner.

Chalumeau was invented as an attempt to make a louder version of the recorder instrument. Featured 2 keys and was available in SATB versions (bass chalumeau was alleged, but there are no existing models remaining today).
