Developed by Louis-Auguste Buffet in collaboration with Hyacinthe Eleonore Klose. Numerous improvements:

- Added ring keys, as seen on the Boehm flute
- Utilized needle springs developed by Buffet
- Had a total of 24 toneholes
- Eliminated the need for tricky cross fingerings
