10 févr. 1906 - British Dreadnought Launch
Description:
2) The HMS Dreadnought in 1906 shocked the military world in which an arms race was already happening. This ship redirected any and all designs of military battleships up till that point. Germany even published the second naval law of 1906, in order to update their battleships to Dreadnought concept, as the initial 3rd naval law, just wouldn’t suffice.
3) This could very well have been the start of WW1 as well, the only problem being, that Britain was ahed of many countries in the naval race, and with a navy just as big and a mobilization just as fast, declaring war on Britain wasn’t an option. The British army making such a powerful battleship was observed by many countries as a declaration of War, but with great powers like Russia, and Germany still recovering from earlier political and geopolitical crisis, war was not an option... yet.
