Description:
An important legacy of the Persian Empire would be the spread of monotheism. They followed the teachings of Persian prophet Zarathustra who believed in only one god, Ahura Mazda. The religion mentioned lesser gods that were not to be worshipped and the concept of heaven and hell. The religion was first spread orally, but later was written down in the book, Avestas.
