Description:

The Disaster of Tangier was a catastrophic military event for Portugal that occurred in 1437, during the reign of King Duarte I.

The expedition resulted in a huge failure due to poor organization and the small number
of Portuguese soldiers, as well as the weak weapons used.
The Moors surrounded the Portuguese troops and destroyed them, taking many
prisoners. This led to that the moors demanded the handover of Ceuta and peace between Portugal and Morocco.
