Description:

Patrick Clemens, seeking something new, moves to Philadelphia in the colonies. Once established in society, he convenes a Hellfire club much like his beloved Medmenham club, with the help of his friend Benjamin Franklin. He calls his club the Checkmate Club, and patterns membership on the pieces of a chess set. He establishes himself as the Black King.
