Context:
Hungarians resented presence of Soviet troops/faculties/language on their land and where unhapy with the communist model

Khrushchev had expressed his dissaproval towards Stalin's practisses and started the "DESTALINIATION" process (released political prisoners + closed down ominform = HOPE for more independance (Eastern European contries

Event:
Rakosi forced to retire after appealing to Moscow (arrest opponents) -> Erno Gero replaces him -> student demonstriations (Stalin statue pulled down) -> USSR allows new governement (Imre Nagy = loved by the people) -> listens to the people (free ellections + impartial court + hungarian soldiers leave army for rebel cause + restore private land ownership) => wanted to be neutral (leave Warsaw + kick out Soviet authority) and get support from US president

Result:
C ready to discuss except for Warsaw = fights (Hungarians flee) but no help from US -> Khrushchev impliments some reforms but not the most important one (Warsaw)
