AFTER STALIN'S DEATHProtests = spontaneous +no leader + defensless
all had the same goal (better working conditions)
Upset at lack of reaction from communist party -> turn against them because they don't represent the people's intrests
=> showed failing of communist model + inspired other states to do the same + violent repression from Soviet (deaths)
