Description:

It was occupied by Israel in 1967 and became part of Area A under Palestinian National Authority control in 1993. Historically, Jenin has been identified with ancient cities and has seen various rulers, including the Ottomans and Jordanians. The city and its refugee camp have been focal points in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, with the camp known for its militant activities. As of 2017, Jenin had around 50,000 inhabitants, with about 10,000 in the Jenin refugee camp.
