Description:
1973: Frontiero v. Richardson ruled that sex is unrelated to the ability to perform andcontribute to society, or the ability to be a dependent. This drew an analogy to equal
treatment with race discrimination, and aided conversations about ensuring equal
opportunities for people with disabilities. Disability, however, exists along a continuum
and is subject to change, something that differs with race and sex.
