1 janv. 1684 - Leibniz's Differential Calculus
Description:
German mathematician Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, born in 1646, is considered one of the inventors of calculus alongside Newton. He published his discovery of differential calculus in 1684 and later published his discovery of integral calculus in 1686. He is credited with the notation of dx and dy and the integral symbol along with coining phrases using the word "calculus." Notably, he is also considered the first to reference the method of determinants in the Western world. Newton and Leibniz both popularized the "=" sign for equality.
