Description:
- Sherman invades south, marches through GA- Sherman believed in "total war" that would break the South's psychological capacity to fight
- Took and burned Atlanta, to destroy deep South morale and supplies
- Difficult campaign because the Union abandoned their established supply lines
- Still, the Union meets little resistance in the South (support for the war was waning on both sides)
