1 janv. 1960 - Violent crime doubled

Description:

Between 1955 and 1960, violent crime doubled. Many attributed this to the "teddy boys"- a subculture in British youth that focused on rock and roll and R&B music.

They were seen as a challenge to the older generation and social norms. They were thought to have carried flick-knives with them.

However, it was rare to have any youth culture be the main focus of crime. It is evident that most youths conformed to tradition and were much like there parents.
