Description:
The race riot of Tulsa goes down in history as one of many racially motivated attacks of that time. The riot started as a reaction to Rowland, a Black shoeshiner, allegedly grabbing a white girl's arm. The conflict unfolded and grew over days, ending in a mob of white people destroying "Black Wall Street" and their community, forcing people from their homes, looting and going as far as bombing houses.It is believed that around 300 people were killed.
