The popular supermarket chain, Walmart, opens its first store. As is well known, Walmart is currently one of the nation's most well-performing supermarket chains, only competing with a couple others nationally, and various locally. As a low-cost, all-in-one stop-n-shop that it is, Walmart increased shopping efficiency for many citizens, and lowered the cost of many items as many large companies do with infrastructure - imagine our country without Walmart for a second. Yeah, that would be weird and drastically different than our current one, wouldn't it? Hence its significance comes from its economic impact and innovation.
