Ai-Jen Poo is an Asian American labor activist. Her parents taught her social justice values at a young age. Her father Mu-Ming Poo was a political activist after emigrating from Taiwan a few years before her birth. In 1996 she joined CAAAV which is a division in helping to stop Anti-Asian violence in the workplace. She is also the leader and founder of Domestic Workers United, which helps minority housecleaners and maids get power, respect, and equal opportunity.
