16 juin 2014 - 43/ Déjà-vu (1): repetitions of BOTTICELLI's 'Primavera'

It has been said that we live in the “age of reproduction” (1). Philosophers like Walter Benjamin, Jacques Derrida and Gilles Deleuze have written about the processes of reproduction, repetition, difference and alteration. Replication is also a basic concept in cybernetics (2). The concept repetition is definitely an attractive topic nowadays.
My first 'story' in myHistro, which I tag "Déjà-vu", is that of the famous painting 'La Primavera' (or 'Allegory of Spring') by Sandro BOTTICELLI, dated 1478-1481.

The well-known art historian Aby Warburg called it 'Il regno di Venere' ('das Reich der Venus' 'The realm of Venus') in his doctoral thesis of 1891 (p.37) (9).
