Description:
The peace settlement that ended war between Germany and the Allied powers. Negotiated by mainly Prime Minister Lloyd George of Great Britian, Georges Clemenceau of France, (Both of which were mostly just concerned about punishing Germany) and Woodrow Wilson of the U.S.A (14 points → less angry bc war wasn’t fought on his land)

--> Germany was exluded from joining the newly established League of Nations
--> The Rhineland had to be demilitarised
--> The Saar, with its rich coalfields, were given to France for 15 years
--> Germany had to make substantial territorial concessions
--> Germany was forbidden to unite with Austria
--> Germany had to cut its army to 100,000 men
--> Germany could retain only six battleships and was to have no submarines
--> Germany was not allowed to have an air force
--> War Guilt Clause: Germany and Austria had to accept the sole blame for starting the war
--> Germany had to pay $31.4 billion in reparations
