18 août 1920 - Women got the right to vote

Description:

When: After a long time of fights and strikes, women finally got the right to vote on August 18, 1920, because of the 19th amendment.
Where: Wyoming was the first state to grant women the rights to vote in 1869; followed by Utah in 1870, Colorado in 1893, Idaho in 1896, Washington in 1910, and so forth
Who: After a long 41 years of debating, Vice President Thomas Marshall signed the amendment, called "the Susan B. Anthony Amendment"
What: After the amendment passed, female activists continued to use politics to reform society. Women finally have the basic rights as an American citizen.
Why: A crucial reason as to why they were given this right was the effort they put into world war 1. Activists pointed that out, and then the 19th amendment was ratified.
Impact: My mom can vote, all thanks to the 19th amendment
