Description:

The Philistines gather at Shunem, prompting Saul to lead his army to Mount Gilboa for battle. Before the confrontation, he seeks guidance from a medium at Endor. The medium, unaware of his identity, conjures what appears to be the prophet Samuel, who delivers a message of divine rejection, foretelling Saul's imminent defeat and death.

In the aftermath, Saul, facing defeat, asks his armor bearer to kill him, but the bearer refuses. Saul then falls on his own sword. A young Amalekite falsely claims to have dealt the fatal blow, hoping to gain favor with David. However, David punishes the Amalekite for harming the Lord's anointed.

The Philistines, victorious, mutilate Saul's body and those of his sons, displaying them on the walls of Beth-shan and in the temple of Ashtaroth. The people of Jabesh-Gilead retrieve the bodies for cremation and burial. Later, David buries Saul and Jonathan's bones in Zela, honoring their memory.
