10 oct. 1453 - The Fall of Constantinople
Description:
The Byzantine Empire started to shrink under the impact of foreign attacks. Until 1350, it was reduced to the tip of Anatolia and a strip of the Balkans. Yet thanks to its large walls, its fleet, and its strategic location, Constantinople survived for another 100 years. Finally, the city fell to the Ottoman Turks in 1453.
