12 sept. 1919 - Hitler joins the German Workers Party

Description:

On the 12th of September 1919, Hitler went to a meeting of the German Workers' Party in the back room of a beer hall in Munich, with about 25 other people. He listened to a speech on economics by Gottfried Feder entitled, "How and by what means is capitalism to be eliminated?"
When the speech ended, Hitler began to leave when a man rose up and started to speak in favor of the German state of Bavaria breaking away from Germany and forming a new South German nation with Austria.
This enraged Hitler and he then spoke out protesting the man uninterrupted for the next 15 minutes, astonishing everyone.
One of the founders of the German Workers' Party, Anton Drexler, who reportedly whispered: "He's got the gift of the gab. We could use him."

After Hitler's outburst, Drexler rushed over to Hitler and gave him a 40 page pamphlet, titled "My Political Awakening." He urged Hitler to read it and invited him back to the next meetings.
