1 janv. 1974 - Equal Education Opportunities Act Passed

Description:

This act is essentially a combination of the passage of Title IX and Brown v. Board of Education. This law declares that everybody of any religion, sex, and race, are to be allowed equal opportunity in education. This was important at the time because it served as a landmark in unifying the diverse backgrounds of the United States. Anyone of any origin were to be given the same rights and opportunities, and there were no longer any advantages (on paper) to being a specific race/gender. This is relevant today because the schools still provide equal opportunity to everyone regardless of who they are.
