In the weeks leading up to this massacre, Kavani leader xRitual contacts Lycentian leader TheDarkSandw1ch to combine the two forces to fight the Foralkans. This was known as the Federal Mandate. After some time, many Federal Mandate members were displeased with DarkSandw1ch's behavior.

xRitual plots to wipe out the Lycentians, marking an end to the alliance. He schedules a fake battle in Iorkydax through a wormhole, The Foralkans vs The Federal Mandate. Leading the alliance into wild space believing a battle will happen. In reality, the Foralkan's leadership were in on this and knew there would be no battle. xRitual hires the mercenary group Deep-Field Services to place warp disruptors near DarkSandw1ch and immediately snipe his Horizon with railguns. DF-S remains in a separate voice channel to coordinate killing the Lycentians. What follows is the Kavani fleet opening fire on the other Lycentian destroyers, killing several in the process.

Some ships trying to escape or return to the wormhole back to secure space are met with fighters trying to kill them before they can enter the wormhole.
