Description:

McCarthy, a small senator from Wisconsin, made a speech charging that the state department was compromised by communist agents. He went on to support anti-communists and said the U.S. was also full with communists. McCarthy's bullying tactics sent people away and he was considered a liar. He lost his followers as a result.
